Now that you have had time to think about which couponing system will work for you, it is time to start getting organized. If you are using the filing method, then all you will need to do is file your inserts according to dates. It is less initial work. I would recommend using file folders. If you are using an envelope method, you can simply write what is in each envelope on the outside and replace as needed.
As I told you in my last blog post, neither of these systems will work for me, as I am slightly OCD, lol. To cut down on time and my stress levels at the store, I use a very organized binder that I put together myself, through a personal 2 year ongoing learning process. My method is what I am going to share with you. You should choose the best method for your personality and life style. As long as you are saving money, it works.
In my last post, I described my binder. If you have chosen my method, and have purchased what you will need, please proceed. If not, please stop and go to the store now. Use coupons if you have them. A lot of stores already have school supplies on sale. Also, you will see special coupon pages by the baseball card protectors. Buying them is your choice, but they tend to cost a little more, and you can fold your coupons. Again, your choice. See you in a bit!
Now that you have your binder, baseball card and page protectors, tabs, and a favorite pen or fine point sharpie, it is time to choose your categories. You can add to or change them at any time. There is no wrong way, because it is all your way. I eliminated dog food and treats because we no longer have a dog. I give those coupons to a friend. I do not have a baby section because my baby is 13. I am considering adding one though, so that I can donate the items to a local charity. Again, these are my categories. Use what you want, and add your own. Remember, I use the main categories and some sub-categories on the page protectors simply for sorting purposes. Congratulations on beginning your couponing journey!
