Couponing 101 – A step by step guide to learning how to coupon.
So often, I am approached in the store by those who are fascinated by my LARGE purple Case It binder full of coupons. I hear comments like “I could never do that” or “I wish I knew how to do that” or “Do you really get stuff for free?” or “I just don’t have time for that”. My answers are “Yes you can,” “I can teach you,” “Yes I do,” and “I make over $70 an hour when I coupon. Would you have time for that?” It literally hurts my heart when people check out in front of me and spend $200/$300 on groceries for a WEEK! AGGGHHHHH!
OK, I am better now. Whew!
A lot of people think that by buying generic brands, they are saving money. I used to be one of those people. The truth is, a lot of name brands are much cheaper when you use coupons and sales to purchase them. Now, there are actually a few generic products that I prefer to name brands, but for the most part, my shelves are filled with name brand products. By couponing, I have learned that some products are better than others, and my family has gotten to try many items that I simply deemed to expensive to purchase before I started couponing. I aim for at least 70% savings, but my favorite four letter f word is FREE!
